MY WEIGHT "LOSS" JOURNEY
I ’ve never been “obese”, but like so many of us I always seemed to struggle with those extra 10 to 15 pounds. The ones that creep up because you’re getting older, or you haven’t been consistent with exercising. What surprised me is that I’ve never had a terribly “bad” diet. I’m an insulin-dependent diabetic, so I don’t eat sweets; no cake, candy, or cookies for me. On the rare special occasion, I’d have a teensy slice of something. I never found fast food very appealing either. Burgers and fries, eh? I’d rather go for sushi or even Chinese food. I joined Weight Watchers a while ago and it worked for a while. I lost about fifteen pounds and felt great but after a while the meetings became repetitive, and the same questions were being asked by other members. I’d reached my goal, so I stopped going.
